This type of cover only protects against liability claims. This cover offers no protection against any type of veterinary fees.
Liability claims are on the increase, especially with so many no win no fee solicitors at peoples disposal. There is a large increase in the number of adverts encouraging/advising people of their rights to make a claim.
If for example your dog becomes involved in a road traffic accident and your dog is responsible then a personal injury claim could be very expensive. Imagine the third party is 35 years old and unable to work again then you could be pursued for 30 years loss of earnings and pain and sufferance. A claim of this nature would be hundreds of thousands of pounds or could even go beyond a million.
WARNING if you do not buy any type of pet insurance then think very carefully before deciding not to take out third party only cover. If a claim is made against you, you will probably need very deep pockets, not to mention the stress.
